Big Swell Day in Sydney

The day before this was brutal. Strong winds, huge swell and horizontal rain. However as the skies cleared and the wind dropped, the swell didn’t go anywhere. This made for some perfect conditions at Bronte for those skilled and brave enough. (Not me!)

On the walk around to Bronte, I couldn’t help take some shots of the waves at Clovelly. The false perspective here makes the bystanders look in more trouble than they were… Although I think they probably did get a little wet after this wave!

Not many surfers were out braving the monster swell rolling into Bronte. Although there was a lot of spectators like me waiting to see what these guys could do.

At about 8:30am the sun was still quite low in the sky, creating some stunning light conditions on the water and dramatic silhouettes of the surfers.
